Abdel Bendaher was born in Paris in 2002. After being discovered at a football game, he found himself in front of cameras from one day to the next. In 2019, Samir Guesmi is looking for the star which will embody the protagonist of his first movie, Ibrahim. As soon as he saw him, he knew that Abdel was the one. It was at this moment that his life changed, and he took his first steps into becoming an actor.
Though the movie was not able to be presented at the Festival de Cannes in 2020 because of the pandemic, Ibrahim still received the Valois de Diamant, the highest award from the Festival du Film Francophone d’Angoulême. Abdel, however, was nominated for the revelations of the César 2021 for his breathtaking performance as a teenager risking everything to right a wrong being very costly to his father.
This first experience gave Abdel the taste for cinema. After playing Inès d’Assomption’s boyfriend in the comedy T’as pécho ?, he plays one of Guillaume Labbé’s students in the drama tv show L’Ecole de la vie, where he plays a high school student suffering from domestic violence.
